Eva & Steve’s Homemade Backyard Garden Wedding :: Miami

My road to shooting Eva & Steve’s wedding day actually began in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico last year at their friend’s, Danielle & Mick, destination wedding. (Haven’t seen those photos? You should check them out! Click here) During my time in Puerto Vallarta I had a chance to meet and visit with Eva & Steve, and they had a whole weekend to watch me work. Add in a recommendation from Danielle & Mick and it really was the best sales presentation I could ever possibly give.

Their homemade backyard wedding was held at the groom’s parents beautiful home in the Pinecrest neighborhood in South Miami. The garden at Steve’s mother’s home was the most incredible sight I have ever seen outside of an arboretum, it was the perfect setting for their wedding day. The beautiful day was thanks to very hard work from Eva and her mother-in-law, every detail was attended to, and as you can see the day went by about as perfect as possible.

I am very proud of the images from this wedding day, they represent the best of natural light documentary wedding coverage for myself. I am constantly reminded how lucky I am to be given the opportunity by my clients to shoot their unique events. Thank you to Eva & Steve for this opportunity it certainly was my pleasure.

Alex & Tim’s Miami Florida Backyard Wedding

It was a privilege to travel to Miami to document Alexandra & Timothy’s wedding in Miami, Florida. They were such a great couple to work with, after hearing all of Alex’s plans it was great to see them all come together brilliantly. They both got ready with friends and family at epic apartments in the Brickell area of Miami. From there we headed south to Pinecrest Presbyterian Church for the ceremony.

The most incredible part of the wedding was the backyard reception which was held at Alex’s parents private home. The backyard was transformed into an incredible reception venue. The rain stayed away and the night was a success. Please enjoy these photos from the day, and a few photobooth photos I threw in as well, and thanks to Alex & Tim for having me on your special day!

KARA & ANDREW : PART III : PORTRAITS IN CHICAGO

This is the third and final post from Kara & Andrew’s amazing wedding in Illinois. The day after the wedding we traveled to downtown Chicago and after a delicious lunch at Flat Top Grill, a new favorite of mine, we headed to Millennium Park and surrounding areas for some photos. Kara and Andrew were troopers after a long reception the night before they were up and ready for more! I am thrilled how these came out and I cannot wait to return to Chicago for another wedding.

Ashley & Adam – A Graham, TX Wedding

Ashley & Adam’s wedding ceremony was at the First United Methodist Church of Graham and the reception was held at the Wildcatter Ranch in Graham, TX. I have known Ashley through the wedding world as she assisted my favorite wedding planner & designerJulie Eastman of Extraordinary Events & Design on several weddings I had shot previously. Credit goes to Deitra Butler of Lush Couture Floral for the bouquets, center pieces, and other decorations.

My favorite part of the day was the first look in the courtyard at the First United Methodist Church of Graham. The light was perfect and it was such a great moment as both of their families looked on from the windows in the background. It was a great day, and a great party, congratulations and thanks for having me Ashley & Adam!

Daniel & Sarah :: Austin, TX :: The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge

Big thanks to Daniel and Sarah for providing me my first ever Austin, TX wedding. It’s amazing that I hadn’t shot a wedding in Austin yet, considering everywhere else I have been to cover weddings in the past.

This was a great start to my Austin wedding career, the wedding was held at The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge south of downtown. The outdoor country location was absolutely incredible. Except for catering and getting ready the entire wedding day was outdoors. We were blessed with a mild Texas fall day and the rest is history.

Kara & Andrew : Orchard Ridge Farms in Rockton, IL

It was privilege to be asked by my friend, and fellow Mizzou Photojournalism graduate, Kara and her husband Andrew to travel to Rockton, IL to document their wedding this past October. I of course said yes immediately, and was treated to one of the finest events I have ever had the opportunity to photograph.

Maureen & Donald’s St. Louis Wedding

It is a great honor to be trusted by anyone to shoot the most important day of their life. But it is an even greater honor when that person is a friend, former classmate, and a photographer himself. Donald was a classmate of mine at the University of Missouri, we often found ourselves photographing the same sports and events on and off campus. We also both started shooting weddings at the same time in College.

He asked me to travel to St. Louis to document his marriage to his beautiful bride Maureen. The wedding ceremony was held at the incredible Little Flower Church in Richmond Heights, MO. This church blew my mind, it is an amazing space. I thought that maybe Donald had discovered this gem while shooting a clients wedding, but it turned out he has worshiped here since he was a kid. We shot portraits at Forest Park and the St. Louis Art Museum, as well as at the campus of Washington University, and finally the reception was held at Moulin Events.

Below are a few of my favorite images, I tried some different post processing techniques on this post and I am pretty happy with how they came out. I almost never convert to Black and White, but I LOVE the results of this technique. Also check out that color on the portraits!

New Seabury Country Club – Cape Cod Wedding Photos

Well here it is, the final blog post of three from Dina & Dave’s Destination wedding in Cape Cod. Dina & Dave’s wedding ceremony was held at Christ the King Parish in Mashpee, MA followed by beach portraits and a crazy reception at the New Seabury Country Club where Joey Scott and the Connection performed for 4 great hours. Rehearsal Dinner at New Seabury Beach Club

Dina & Dave’s rehearsal dinner was held at the New Seabury Beach Club in Cape Cod. Most of their guest were in from out of town so they invited a huge group to the rehearsal dinner the night before. The father of the groom, Rick made a hilarious toast and handed out his Bride & Groom hats as well as hats for the father and mother of the bride and groom.

Golf Day & Bridal Shower on the Cape

I traveled to Cape Cod, MA last month to document Dina & Dave’s Wedding weekend. They invited me to document the entire weekends events starting on Friday with the rehearsal and a dinner with close family, on Sunday, golf with the guys and the bridal shower as well as a huge rehearsal dinner with all of their out of town guest. And of course Sunday the wedding day. This is the first of a few post covering my favorite pictures from this great weekend. Thanks to Dina & Dave for making me feel like part of the family the whole weekend.

The guys headed out to play golf at the New Seabury Country Club on Cape Cod. I got to return to my sports photography roots for a few hours as I followed the guys around. In the afternoon I headed to Dina’s sister in laws house to grab a few shots at the Bridal Shower. Her soon to be nieces were super helpful opening the presents.

My Friend Ava – A selection of Portraits

Introducing my new best friend, Ava. She is the niece of one of my long time friends from high school. I have been close with her family for years and I was honored to be invited out to Fourth of July celebrations with their family and a quick (very hot) afternoon portrait session with Ava the next week. As the weather cools down look for more from Ava, she is blast to photograph!
